Indigenous Values
At Pier, “meaningfully inclusive” means we are committed to working with Indigenous communities/peoples, developing relationships that last “as long as the sun shines, the rivers flow and the grass grows.”
Our Pier Values apply to our desire to engage with Indigenous communities/peoples, in the spirit of reconciliation:
As we continue this journey of reconciliation, we want to learn the best way to develop a working relationship with Indigenous communities, groups, and people.
Our Pier Values apply to our desire to engage with Indigenous communities/peoples, in the spirit of reconciliation:
- Passionate: we are passionate about our work and the opportunity to support Indigenous peoples/communities.
- Innovative: we value Indigenous knowledge and the opportunity for this to inspire innovation. We are taking the following steps to integrate Indigenous knowledge into our Pier-approach:
- We are looking to hire Indigenous people to work at Pier today and providing resources and training for them to advance in their careers.
- We have started an internal workshop series for our staff, where we will learn about Indigenous topics.
- Economical: we are honoured by any opportunity to support Indigenous communities’ investments; we are committed to developing solutions that are wise investments and environmentally respectful.
- Relationships: we care about the Indigenous clients and communities we serve; we are committed to long-term, meaningful relationships and solutions.
As we continue this journey of reconciliation, we want to learn the best way to develop a working relationship with Indigenous communities, groups, and people.
